June 12: Group greets Kwarans, urges support for AbdulRazaq

A Kwara-based group, Hassan Owoyale Vanguard has congratulated Kwarans on the occasion of this year’s Democracy Day, saying the state had come a long way in upholding the key tenet of democracy.

In a statement jointly signed by its Coordinator, Saheed Olarewaju Muhammed and Secretary, Isiaq Kayode Jaji, the group said it believed Kwarans had learnt a lot in the country’s last 21 years of uninterrupted democracy, which is evident in the unsurping of a political godfather, that had dominated the state’s political space for 16 years, in a democratic way.

It stated that June 12, 1993, like the Kwara’s Otoge revolution of 2019, delivered a mandate for the revival of hope, unity and attainment of the state’s great potential.

The statement praised late MKO Abiola for his heroism and dynamism as well as his exemplary contributions to the evolution of Nigeria’s democracy.

“The best way to celebrate Democracy day is to upgrade the living standard of citizens through the provision of critical infrastructure, ensuring sound education, stimulating Agricultural growth and qualitative Healthcare,” the statement added.

It however urged Kwarans to remain united and continue to support Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for him to deliver his pro-masses agenda.
