It’s more difficult to manipulate elections now: says Ondo Gov, Akeredolu

The Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu has said it has become more difficult for anyone to rig elections in Nigeria.

He said it has become difficult for anyone to influence the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to rig elections in the country.

The Governor said the emergence of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) by INEC has made rigging cumbersome for anyone.

He also expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will come victorious in the 2023 elections in the country.

Akeredolu made this revelation while hosting the retiring Resident Electoral Commissioner in the State, Mr Rufus Akeju.

”I am happy that it’s getting more and more difficult for anybody to influence INEC to rig the election. I have been involved in so many elections and I keep telling people, election is difficult to rig.

“It has become more difficult now, because whether we like it or not, INEC has improved on its work over time, and I want to congratulate you and the chairman for the good work you are doing.”

Akeju thanked the state government and the people of the state for supporting him during his tenure.
