Just as political parties are warming up for party primaries in few days to come, there is a strong movement by a pressure group from Kwara North known as Coalition of Kwara North Youth Groups *CKNG* .As part of the pressure group agitation to press home their demand from different political parties to consider a Kwara northerner as their party flag bearer in the forthcoming general election.The group today visited the Emir of Pategi,His Royal Highness Alh.Ibrahim Chatta Umar to brief him of their moves and seek for royal blessings.
The Emir in his address commended the pressure group for standing up for the tasks”I commend you for deeming it fit to complement the effort of traditional rulers and political leaders across Kwara North, particularly at this time when the parties are preparing for their primaries”.
He further emphasized that the agitation for a Kwara northerner to become a governor is not about Bukola Saraki, “The agitation for Kwara northerner to become a governor is not about Bukola Saraki or any political party but about Upholding justice, equity and fair play considering the fact that other two regions have ruled the state in the last 20 years ,all of us that are traditional rulers from Kwara north have reached out to emir of Ilorin His Royal highness Alh Ibrahim Zulu Gambari who doubles as the chairman of Kwara State traditional Council and other relevant quarters as far this very agitation is concern”
He urged the group not to insult or fight with any body during the course of their engagement and pray for peace and tranquility in our dear state and the country at large.
