INEC fixes March 14 for Kwara bye-election

The Independent National Electoral Commission in Kwara State has fixed March 14 for the conduct of Patigi State Assembly bye-election.

Mallam Garba Attahiru-Madami, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kwara State, made the disclosure while receiving executives of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in his office.

While addressing the timeliness of the IPAC visition, Attahiru-Madami disclosed to IPAC officials led by its Chairman, Prince Adebayo Akadi that the commission was preparing for a by-election to fill the vancant seat of the member that lost his life last year

According to him, the commission will communicate officially as they await necessary logistics and timetable from headquarters to commence preparation for the by-election.

He said, “Officially, we will communicate to you, but you are privileged to know that the by-election will be coming up on Saturday, 14th of March, we have written to our headquarters for necessary logistics, so that they will send us a timetable and after which you are going to be informed officially.”

Recall that the representative of Pategi Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Ahmed Saidu Rufai died on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019.
