I’ll expose oil thieves, shame them if I become president – Atiku

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has said he will reveal the secrets of oil thieves and bring shame to them if he (Atiku) becomes president in 2023.

The presidential candidate said he knows thieves of oil in Nigeria, and has therefore made the decision to expose them when he emerges president in 2023.

He made this revelation while having an interactive meeting with some business stakeholders in Lagos on Saturday.

Atiku also made a vow to close down all unoperational oil blocs that are managed by some Nigerian people.

The former Vice President said, “If you are not going to develop oil blocs given to you, we will take it away and give it to those who will develop it.

“We will also assemble the names of those involved in oil theft, publish same and prosecute them.”

Atiku also said he will privatize oil refineries in Nigeria to boost productivity.

There have been speculations that Atiku was planning to sell the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited if he becomes president next year (2023).
