Ifelodun LG partners KW-HMB to enhance healthcare accessibility

The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Hon. Femi Yusuf, has announced a collaborative effort with the Hospital Management Board (KW-HMB) to strengthen the drug supply chain system in Kwara State. This partnership aims to ensure the availability of affordable and quality medications for the residents of Ifelodun.

During an official visit to the KW-HMB on Wednesday, Hon. Yusuf emphasized the urgent need for this collaboration as drug prices and medical consumables continue to rise in Nigeria. He expressed optimism that the initiative will significantly enhance the health outcomes for both the young and elderly populations in his community.

Hon. Yusuf praised the current administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for its commitment to the welfare of the people of Ifelodun and the state at large. “Dr. Malik is a round peg in a round hole who is complementing the dreams of this administration in providing quality healthcare service delivery to the people of Kwara,” he stated.

Responding to the initiative, Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, Executive Secretary of the KW-HMB, commended Hon. Yusuf for his proactive approach, noting that the partnership would be mutually beneficial. He called on other local council leaders to take similar steps in supporting the state government’s efforts to improve healthcare services at the grassroots level.

Dr. Malik highlighted the importance of utilizing advanced technology for efficient drug transactions and underscored the need for thorough monitoring and supervision practices to ensure successful operations in the healthcare supply chain. He concluded by congratulating Hon. Femi Yusuf on his recent electoral success, offering best wishes for his tenure in leading the Ifelodun local government area.
