I remain Kwara APC caretaker chairman, says Bolarinwa

The Chairman of the All Progressive Congress in Kwara State, Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, who was reportedly suspended, on Wednesday says he remains the caretaker chairman of the party.

This was contained in a statement issued by his media aide, Ayo Abegunde, and made available to newsmen in Ilorin, the state capital.

Recall that the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, last week, reached its climax with the removal of Bashir Bolarinwa and appointment of his deputy, Abdullahi Samari as the new chair.

Bolarinwa in his first official statement since the crisis started, however, dismissed reports challenging his authenticity as the head of the caretaker committee of the party in the State.

The statement read, “The All Progressives Congress is a law abiding party and strongly believes in the rule of law. Nobody can claim to be bigger than the National Executive Committee of our great party and its decisions remain sacrosanct.

“Those who chose to turn logic on its head can continue to live in dreamland. We have known them to be harbingers of mischief and spreaders of fake news.

“Hon. Bashir Bolarinwa therefore calls on all our genuine party faithful to remain calm, law-abiding and resolute and ignore the antics of back door impostors.”
