I kidnapped my lover to raise money for our wedding — Suspect
Bello Ahmed, 28, who reportedly kidnapped his lover has disclosed that he carried out the wrong act against his lover because he wanted to raise money for their marriage.
Bello and three others who assisted him in carrying out the wrong act met their waterloo as they got arrested for abducting one Miss Hannah Queen at Apo Estate.
The victim was kidnapped on March 26, 2022 by her lover who she met in Dubai.
The four suspects were however apprehended by men of the Force Intelligence Bureau’s Intelligence Response Team (IRT).
Their arrest came into effect, following a report filed at the IRT Headquarters at Guzape by the victim’s uncle, ACP Yusuf Sanni
Bello in his statement said, “My lover put so much pressure on me to marry her. So, I was forced to kidnap her to raise the money I needed. I regret my involvement in the act as I couldn’t get the money. I expected that I will be paid the ransom.”
Police investigations have it that the principal suspect had had a wife and two children in Dubai before relocating to Nigeria.
The key suspect expressed that they had the expectation that they would get a total of N50m as ransom from the parents of the victim so that each of them would get up to at least N10m each.
Exhibits reportedly saw in the possession of these suspects include a hack saw, two masks, one beret cap, one masking tape and one iPhone.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Usman Alkali Baba, has however given a direction to the the police authorities to go on with a diligent prosecution of the matter in the nation’s law courts for justice to be done on all matter.
