– …as police denied inviting him.
Amidst the current crises rocking the Alanamu’s ward of the All Progressive Congress, the former green chamber legislator and aide to the Senate President, Hon. Mashood Mustapha has described as untrue the ‘life threat’ allegation leveled against him by a former majority leader of the Kwara state house of Assembly, Hon. Kayode Omotoshe.
In a statement signed by his Media aide, AbdulAzeez Kayode, and made available to newsmen earlier today, disclosed that the Gubernatorial hopeful “is a very civilized, well travelled and calculating politician, and he will never descend so low to threaten anyone talkless of a person like Omotose who has severally benefitted from Hon. MM’s benevolence.”
He further revealed that the Police never invited him depicting the report as “very laughable considering the fact that the Kwara State Police Command have their modus operandi and will never invite anyone for questioning on the pages of the newspaper, neither will they do that on the social media.”
While calling on his partymen to sheath swords and leave police out of politics, he said, “The police have a backlog of work on their hands and should not be dragged into the politics of the APC in Alanamu ward.”
He termed his alledged defection as rumour saying he was only making “consultation across all spectrum”
Recall that the APC stalwart was suspended after the ward Chairman approved a suspension motion moved by the former Majority Leader in the state House of Assembly, Kayode Omotose and seconded by AbdulWasiu Tetengi at an emergency’s meeting at Isale- Aluko, Ilorin.
However the suspension was countered by the vice-Chairman of the ward who said “We believe in the leadership of Hon. MM both at the ward and state level. The purported suspension is predicated upon the incoming APC congresses which by the grace of God will usher in new leadership from the ward level to state level.”
When contacted for comment, the Police Public Relation Officer, Kwara State Police Command, Dsp. Ajayi Okasanmi denied inviting the Gubernatorial aspirant, ” there is no need for such”- he said
