Despite showing early ambition, defensive errors led to Godwin Oshagbemi’s own goal in the 21st minute, putting Kwara United at a disadvantage.
Efforts to recover were hampered by a lack of accuracy, and Stanley Oganbor took advantage of another defensive blunder before halftime, doubling the lead for Lobi Stars.
Kwara United had a chance to reduce the deficit with a penalty, but Paul Samson failed to score as goalkeeper Lucky Jimoh made a crucial save.
Despite introducing new players, Kwara United struggled to make a meaningful impact, while Lobi Stars grew more ambitious.
The victory propelled Lobi Stars to joint table leadership with Remo Stars, both with 32 points, while Kwara United dropped to 14th place with 19 points.
