Hoodlums attack NSCDC officer for preventing them from collecting money from politician in Kwara
A yet-to-be-identified female officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has been reportedly attacked by some hoodlums for preventing them from collecting money from a former House of Representative member from Ilorin East.
The incident that occurred at the weekend during the turbaning of a new traditional title holder in Ilorin led to beating up the female NSCDC officer to a stupor.
According to witnesses, “They beat her to the point of coma, leaving her with a swollen face and hands. She woke up later at the hospital where she was rushed to,” one of the witnesses said.

Another resident, who also witnessed the incident, said a colleague of the victim wanted to fire a gun but was cautioned by another shot because of the sensitivity of the environment at the Emir’s palace in Ilorin.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the command, Ayoola Michael, when contacted by Daily Trust, said it was an accident.
He said, “The story they told me was that it was a minor accident that occurred during the programme while a vehicle she was in was already on the move, but she missed her step and fell when the hoodlums were trying to collect money from the former House of Representatives member.”
Ayoola, however, added, “But no arrest has been made yet.”
