Hijrah 1446: Senator Mustapha greets Muslims, seeks prayer for national development

In commemoration of Hijrah 1446 to mark the beginning of the new Islamic calendar year, Senator Saliu Mustapha, the Turaki of Ilorin, has called on the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria to offer special prayers for the progress and development of Kwara State and the nation as a whole.

According to a statement by Nasif Sholagberu, the Media Assistant to Senator Saliu Mustapha, the Senator representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, he congratulated Muslims nationwide on this significant occasion.

He also called for prayers for Nigeria to overcome its current economic challenges, saying, “Hijrah is a special period in the Islamic calendar, and I want to encourage Nigerians, particularly Muslim ummah, to utilise the period to offer special prayers to the Almighty for our leaders at all levels for God’s wisdom and guidance. We must also put aside our ethnic, religious and political differences and come together to build a more united and peaceful country,”

“As we embark on the new Hijrah Year, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Muslims. This is a time for reflection, renewal and prayer. I urge the Muslim Ummah to use this period to pray fervently for our country’s development, peace and prosperity,” the lawmaker added.

He further urged Muslims to embrace the values of the Hijrah by fostering unity, understanding and goodwill among all citizens.
