Hardship: 100 vulnerable women, widows benefitted from distribution of food items in Kwara

No fewer than 100 vulnerable women and widows have benefitted from food distribution aimed at cushioning the effects of the present economic downturn, the Kwara State Government has said.

Hon. Opeyemi Oluwakemu Afolashade, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, during the distribution process at the Ministry’s Headquarters, appealed to members of the public to be patient with President BolaAhmed Tinubu-led government, saying it is working round the clock to fix the economy and cushion the effects of subsidy removal.

Hon. Afolashade, while highlighting several laudable programmes by the AbdulRazaq-led administration aimed at making life meaningful to the citizens, most especially women and children, commended the governor for sponsoring the programme and for his continued efforts at making life bearable for all, particularly vulnerable women.

In her remarks, one of the beneficiaries, Motunrayo Ayodele, expressed her gratitude to the Governor for the kind gesture, saying they would remain grateful to the State Government.

Another beneficiary, Khadijat AbdulRahman, explained that the governor’s kind gesture would significantly reduce the financial burden on their households.
