Haller opens up on his cancer treatment as he resumes with Dortmund

Sebastian Haller has hinted that it wasn’t easy for him to battle the tumour sickness he was diagnosed with since July

The Ivorian striker who has now returned back to training had undergone two operations to remove a testicular tumour

After rounds of chemotherapy and convalescence, the 28-year-old is happy to be back- thanking his supporters as he set eye on achieving more for Dortmund.

“Happy New Year to all! And it’s off to a great start for me because it means getting back on the field. 2022 wasn’t the easiest year but it prepared me for all the new challenges that 2023 will bring.” he said while posting images of himself working out at the gym on Twitter.

Also in a video message posted by Dortmund Haller said: “I’m finally back. It was not that easy but with your support it was better and easier to do, so I am just looking forward to seeing you in the stadium for some victories.”

Dortmund signed Haller for an initial €31m in July after he scored 34 goals last season for Ajax. The German club said Haller would be “carefully introduced” back into the team.
