The Pilgrims Welfare Agency in Kaduna State has commenced the refund of excess funds already paid by 1, 046 pilgrims who took part in the 2022 Hajj in Saudi Arabia from Kaduna state.
The Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr Yusuf Arrigasiyyu, made this revelation in an interview with newsmen on Thursday in Kaduna.
He revealed that each of the 1, 046 pilgrims will be given N115, 692.11.
The executive secretary of the agency further noted that other pilgrims who’re up to 1,443, who took part in the Hajj from the state, will be given their funds through Jaiz Bank.
Arrigasiyyu stated that the refund started on Monday with pilgrims from Sabon Gari, Zaria, Lere and Soba Local Government Areas (LGAs).
He further disclosed that pilgrims from Kubau, Ikara, Kudan and Makarfi LGAs were refunded on Tuesday, and thereafter the pilgrims in Giwa, Igabi, Kaduna South and Kaduna North.
Arrigasiyyu revealed that other pilgrims from Kajuru, Chikun, Kachia, Jema’a, Kaura, Jaba, Sanga, Kagarko, and Zangon Kataf will be paid between Wednesday and Thursday.
The executive secretary added total sum of N147 million will be paid back to the 1, 046 pilgrims by the agency.
