Gunmen invaded Governor Soludo’s Community, killed one policeman
The invasion was carried out near the governor’s house, where security operatives were reported to be erecting a security post.
The hoodlums stormed the location shooting sporadically, as residents flee for lives.
The Anambra State Police command has not commented on the incident as at the time of compiling this report.
Eye witnesses confirmed the incident, and that a police officer was lost to the invasion.
This will be the third time gunmen launched deadly attack in Anambra state this week. An attack previously took place at Atani Police Station where four policemen were killed, while the invasion of Nteje police station which led to the death of one of the gunmen, are still fresh in people’s memory.
Gunmen had also penultimate week set headquarters of Soludo’s local government, Aguata on fire.
It should be recalled that Governor Soludo, at his inauguration on March 17, called for peace in the state, assuring everyone of his readiness to make peace.
A 15 member committee led by Dr. Chidi Odinkalu was set up to find a way lasting solution to these agitations. The committee is yet to start its assignment.
