Gunmen attack kills at least 6 in Nigeria’s Benue state
MAKURDI, Nigeria, September 2 (The Informant247) – At least 6 people were killed and two badly injured by gunmen in Nigeria’s Benue state, residents and authorities said on Thursday.
The incident is the latest in a spate of attacks by armed gangs that killed and displaced thousands in central Nigeria.
It was gathered that the attack happened around 3 PM on Thursday.
“There was pandemonium in the village soon after the gunshots were heard from all directions. Six corpses were recovered immediately after the invaders fled the scene while some people sustained injuries,” a resident said.
The Benue State Government confirmed that six people were killed in the attack while two were severely injured.
The Police is yet to issue any official statement on the latest attack.
