Gunmen attack Chicken Republic, shot guard in Lagos

Suspected armed robbers on Sunday shot a security man in an attack on Lekki branch of Chicken Republic.

The Informant247 gathered that the incident occurred around 3 pm, when the outlet was tending to its customers,

The attack caused panic as people scampered to safety at the sound of gunshots.

However, an unconfirmed report has it that the gunmen carted away valuables but Chicken Republic in a post on their social media handles said it was an attempted robbery, while also confirming that a member of its staff was shot by the gunmen and rushed to the hospital for treatment.

SP, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos spokesperson, while confirming the incident said that the injured security man was responding to treatment

He said investigations had commenced into the incident, adding that the outlet was collaborating with police investigators.

Hundeyin however, stated that the criminals did not succeed in their attempt to rob the outlet.
