Grammy: South African Tyla beats Davido,Burna Boy, others to win Best African music performance award
South African Tyla has won the maiden category of the Best African music performance award at the 66th 2024 Grammys award at held at Los Angeles
Tyla’s Water won the award ahead of other Nigerian music which includes Amapiano by Asake and Olamide, Davido’s ‘Unavailable’, Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’ Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys’, and Tyla’s ‘Water.’
It’s the first time the category was introduced to celebrate the towering status of African music on the global scene.
