The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that collation of results for the Enugu State governorship election which took place on Saturday, March 18 will proceed at 5pm, Wednesday, March, 22, 2023.
The Informant247 recalls that the INEC suspended the collation of results in the state on Monday, March 20, on the ground that it wanted to review the elections.
The Commission’s National Commissioner, Festus Okoye, disclosed that the results from Nkanu East and Nsukka LGAs in Enugu State were suspended for review.
The electoral commission in a similar vein announced the suspension of the collation of results in Obingwa LGA of Abia State on the ground that some suspected thugs invaded its office on Sunday March 19.
Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party, LP are close to emerging the winner of the governorship election in the state.
