Rivers State governor and presidential aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Nyesom Wike has dissolved the State Executive Council – a decision which takes effect from today, Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
This was contained in a statement made available by his media aide.
It was noted that the Chief of Staff and Senior Special Assistants to the governor have also been relieved of their duties.
Wike praised members of his cabinet for “their service and contribution to the development of the State” and “wished them the best in all their future endeavours.”
He however ordered the former members of his cabinet to hand over to the most senior officers in their respective line of duties.
