Gov Makinde reacts to victory in gov’ship election

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has reacted to the results of the governorship election of March 18, 2023.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has announced the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, the winner of the Saturday March 18 governorship electio in the state.

The state Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife, Prof. Adebayo Banire made the declaration of the Governor as winner of the election.

According to the electoral body, the Governor got 568,756 votes to defeat 15 other candidates.

Makinde secured victory in 17 out of the 18 local governments in the state.

Reacting to the development, the Governor took to his social media account (Twitter) to glorify God and the people of the state.

He said he’s excited that the people of the state chose him, giving an assurance that he will perform better in the next administration.

Sharing image of himself, family members and PDP stalwarts, celebrating the victory, Seyi Makinde wrote on Twitter: “We dedicate this victory to God and the good people of Oyo State. We are grateful for your confidence in our administration and promise to work even harder to deliver our promises under Omituntun 2.0.”
