Gov. AbdulRazaq mourns Khalifah Tijaniyyah
The Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Monday, commiserated with the family, the Muslim community, and associates of the Grand Khalifah of Tijaniyyah in the state Sheikh AbdulRahman Yusuf Mayaki.
This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Rafiu Ajakaye and made available yo newsmen in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
THE INFORMANT247 reports that the religious leaders died in the early hours of Sunday.
The statement reads in part, “The Governor received the news of the Sheikh’s death with sadness despite his old age. Sheikh Mayaki was a very influential religious leader with tremendous impacts on the people and our community in Ilorin, Kwara State, and Nigeria. Given his experience, knowledge, and carriage, his death at this time has created a big vacuum in not just the Sufi community but also across the state.
“The Governor commiserates with the Mayaki family of Ilorin and the entire Tijaniyyah family nationwide on this sad loss. He prays the Almighty Allah to grant him al-Jannah Firdaus and to comfort, guide, and strengthen the fold he left behind.”
