Four injured in tanker explosion on Zaria-Kaduna expressway
Four individuals were hospitalized following a collision between an LPG-laden tanker and an empty tanker in the Dan Magaji Area along the Zaria-Kaduna Expressway. The accident, which occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Monday, was confirmed by Nasir Falgore, the Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission in Zaria.
Falgore explained, “One of the trucks was loaded with LPG, while the other tanker was empty.” Preliminary findings indicated that the LPG tanker allegedly rammed into the empty tanker, resulting in an explosion.
“Three people in the empty tanker and one from the LPG truck sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital,” Falgore added. He also addressed rumors regarding the involvement of additional vehicles, stating, “When we arrived at the scene, it was only the two tankers that were involved in the accident. There was no small car involved.”
Fortunately, Falgore reported that there were no fatalities resulting from the incident at the time of this report.
