An international non-governmental organisation, OneAfrican Child Foundation has tasked the government on deploy sporting activities for community development by entrenching it as part of the learning process within basic educational system.
This call was made during a sport outreach program organised in partnership with a Germany based sport organization, Global Sport Initiative in Ilorin, the Kwara state Capital.
In a statement released by the group, they said, “Students were introduced to the use of sport as an element of team building, team work, resilience, empathy and critical thinking and great attention was placed on sport for community development.
“The project which is the second in it roll, kick started early this year with the support of the centre for community development, Kwara State University, Malete.
“The training is both targeted at schools, communities within the underserved part of the country amd has had it presence deeply rooted amongst few communities in Moro LGA Kwara state.”
