Former NAKSS President Wokili arrested for alleged money laundering, theft
The former National President of the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS), Abdullahi Wokili, has been arrested on allegations of money laundering and theft.
Wokili was apprehended following claims of embezzlement of association funds and properties shortly after the election of a new executive in early November last year. Attempts to retrieve the money and other assets, including the union’s vehicle, from him have proven fruitless.
After months of manhunt, officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) arrested Wokili at his Tsonga village on Tuesday, according to sources. He is currently detained at the NSCDC headquarters in Ilorin and is expected to be charged in court soon.
The union’s incumbent president also confirmed the development to our correspondent.
However, efforts to reach the PRO of the NSCDC proved abortive as he did not answer calls to his line.
