Firefighters rescue 40-year-old trapped inside flood in Kwara

Kwara decries low turnout at health facilities, commences statewide advocacy

A 40 years old man was on Thursday rescued from rising floodwaters in Kwara.

“About 18:10hrs of yesterday evening, 6th May, 2021 during the heavy downpour, the Brigade was summoned to a rescue operation around Royal Sekina Hotel, along Ajase-Ipo Road in Ilorin Kwara State,” a statement by the spokesperson of the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle, reads.

“On getting to the incident, a man of about 40-year-old had been trapped inside the flood. Most importantly, the victim man called Abdulwahab Olarewaju was able to recover well alive by our firemen from this turbulent flood.”

He quoted the fire service boss, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa (CFO), as urging resident “to always be safety cautious especially during the rainfall”.
