Fire outbreak destroys building at Yusuf Ola-Olu Ali’s Ghalib chambers in Ilorin
The Kwara State Fire Service said it has contained a fire outbreak that occurred on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Ghalib Chambers, Unity Road, Ilorin, the state capital.
According to a statement by the spokesperson of Fire Service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, the chamber that belongs to the legal luminary Yusuf Ola Olu Ali (SAN) was attended to upon receiving the distress call, while preventing further destruction, containing the fire to a single office on the second floor of the two-storey building, which houses about 80 offices.
It was gathered that the fire was caused by a power surge, which affected an air conditioner and some books.
Hassan Adekunle, however stated that the director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John, sympathized with the law firm, while advising them to adopt the use of fixed fire installations to enhance fire safety and prevention.
