Fire guts 12 bedroom storey building in Kwara
A 12 bedroom storey building has been gutted by fire in Ilorin, Kwara State on Friday.
The incident, according to the spokesman of the state fire service, Hassan Adekunle, occurred at about 08:24hrs.
The fire incident which happened at No. 17 Afon Close Sabo-Oke Area, was reportedly caused by a power surge.
It was gathered that the fire was huge, but the firefighters were able to tame the ravaging inferno.
According to a report, out of the 12 bedrooms in the building, four bedrooms were consumed by the inferno.
The Director of Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, urged citizens to always cultivate the habit of switching off their electrical appliances even before bedtime, saying that it would help them to prevent the chances of fire outbreaks in their various homes.
