FG says lifting 100m Nigerians out of poverty is possible
President Muhammadu Buhari led government has given assurance that its plan to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty by 2030 was possible.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Kachollum Daju, spoke to newsmen on Sunday in Abuja.
She revealed that the key players in the private sector, are committed to achieving the goal.
Daju said Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) were also working hard towards actualisation of the mandate.
She said that her Ministry had did inauguration of a data bank, known as Labour Market Information System (LMIS).
This data bank would serve as guide to those who have been employed and those willing to get employed.
“The private sector is supposed to play a huge role because we cannot all be dependent on government”, NAN quoted her saying.
“For Ministry of Labour, we have different agencies and departments that have to do with employment skills.
“Alongside the LMIS, we are also going to improve on job matching, known as the National Electronic Labour Exchange (NELEX).”
