Few injured as ABS FC Ilorin involved in road accident along Ogbomoso expressway
Abubakar Bukola Saraki football club in Ilorin have been involved in a road accident while returning from Lagos on Monday after their match against Sporting Lagos.
The accident, which occurred along the Ogbomoso-Ilorin expressway, involved the players and officials of the ABS team.
According to the club’s Media Director, Tosh Michaels, no life was lost in the accident, but few injuries were sustained.

Meanwhile, the Kwara United Football Club has expressed deep sympathy to the players and officials of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC following their involvement in a road accident.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Chairman, Mr Kumbi Titiloye, through the club’s General Manager, Mallam Bashir Badawiy, expressed shock over the unfortunate incident while extending heartfelt empathy to the management and players of ABS FC.
“This is a sad development and very unfortunate. I pray for God’s guidance and protection in all our travels,” Badawiy stated.
ABS Ilorin, a Kwara-based team, is currently competing in the 2024/25 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
