The acting governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has officially been sworn in as the governor, succeeding the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The swearing-in which was held at the government house, Alagbaka in Akure, the state capital.
It was administered by the chief judge, Justice Olusegun Odusola at 5:18pm.
Recall that Akeredolu was pronounced dead at the early hours of Wednesday after a long battle with prostrate cancer and leukemia.
Earlier, the late governor had on December 13, passed on the baton to Aiyedatiwa on an acting capacity following his last medical trip to abroad.
A political crisis has ensued in Ondo State with many calling for late Akeredolu to handover to Aiyedatiwa as the Constitution dictates.
On the other hand, Aiyedatiwa had managed to survive an impeachment threat from members of the Ondo State House of Assembly in the course of the political crisis
