Father accompanying son to JAMB centre kidnapped in Edo
A father who was accompanying his son to a centre in the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been kidnapped.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was abducted in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo state.
It was gathered that the scenario happened around 7am on the Benin-Lagos Express road axis of Okada.
The abductors went away with the father and left the child behind.
The spokesperson of the police in the state, Bello Kontongs, confirmed the incident.
“They alerted the police and we mobilized to the scene and took the boy to write the examination at the designated centre,” he said.
He said the police has commenced security search in a bid to save the victim’s life from the kidnappers.
