Fani-Kayode reveals identities of those behind fake news of Tinubu, CJN meeting
A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Femi Fani-Kayode, has revealed the identities of those behind the claim that the president elect, Senator Bola Tinubu met with the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Olukayode Ariwoola in the United Kingdom, UK.
The Informant247 observed that a report on Thursday, March 23, claimed that the CJN traveled out to the UK in a wheelchair to meet with the president elect.
Reacting, the former Minister of Aviation in a tweet through a Twitter page, accused the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi of sponsoring the fake reports against the Supreme Court.
He said the presidential candidates sponsored the fake reports to defame and damage the reputation of the CJN.
He wrote: “What @PeterObi,@atiku & their thugs did to the CJN is despicable. They lied on him, defamed him, rubbished his reputation & sought to humiliate, blackmail, undermine, destroy & disgrace him out of office. These savages & barbarians seek to destroy all our reverred institutions.”
The presidential campaign council of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has dismissed the claim that the president elect, Senator Bola Tinubu met with Olukayode Ariwoola, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
The media director of the campaign council, Bayo Onanuga in a statement dismissed the rumour.
He described the claim as an attempt to make people doubt the credibility of the victory of Tinubu.
He disclosed that the president elect is in Paris, the capital city of France and not UK.
“The story was a pure concoction from the hallucinating minds of hatchet men bent on creating doubts and public distrust about the legitimacy of our recent election, which was won by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the media director said.
“We refute emphatically that there has been no clandestine meeting between the president-elect and the respected chief justice of our country, anywhere. It’s pure fabricated news, groundless in fact and authenticity.
“To show that the story was a mere salacious fiction, meant to draw traffic to the discredited purveyor, it claimed the Chief Justice left Nigeria for London on 11 March, on a wheelchair to board a plane.
“The president-elect left Nigeria on 21 March, 10 clear days thereafter. What kind of appointment or secret meeting will the two men have arranged in London, with such widely disparate arrival dates, except in the imagination of the false news merchants?
“We can confirm that the president-elect, who left Nigeria Tuesday, has not been in London. He is right now in France to have a deserved rest, after a hectic campaign that began in January 2022.
“He will go to London thereafter before proceeding to Mecca for the lesser Hajj.”
Residents of Abuja sighted the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kayode Ariwoola on Friday, March 24, after leaving the Supreme Court for the Ansar-Ud-Deen Central Mosque, Abuja.
This was revealed in a video which has gone viral on social media.
The video emanated amidst rumour that the CJN had a meeting with the president elect, Senator Bola Tinubu in United Kingdom UK.
The CJN reportedly left the apex court for mosque to observe his prayers.
