Emir Sulu-Gambari names Bola Shagaga as first Sarauniya of Ilorin
Hajia Muinat Bola Shagaya has been named the Sarauniya of the Ilorin Emirate, according to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR.
The Emir and head of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs made the announcement at the 57th annual national conference of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) held on Sunday.
The 63-year-old businesswoman, Muinat Bola Shagaya rose from a humble background to become a business tycoon and a force to reckon with, within social and business circles.
Shagaya is regarded as one of Africa’s wealthiest women and has stakes in the banking sector, real estate, oil and gas, and photography.
