Emir of Katsina turbans NIA Director General, Abubakar as Sardaunan Katsina
The Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, has been turbaned as the new Sardaunan Katsina.
The NIA boss was turbaned by the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmuminin Kabir Usman, on Saturday.
Report has it that the event was attended by top government persons including the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan.
While revealing his experience about the event and his participation at the event, the Senate President via his Twitter page wrote: “Earlier today, the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan was in Katsina for the Turbaning ceremony of Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, the Director General of National Intelligence Agency(NIA). Ambassador Abubakar was turbanned as Sardaunan Katsina by the Katsina Emirate Council.
“Shortly on arrival at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Airport, Lawan and his entourage proceeded to the Katsina State Government House to pay homage to the Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari
“Lawan, together with the Governor and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation(SGF), Boss Mustapha and his entourage from Abuja, headed straight, in a convoy, to the venue of the ceremony, Palace of the Emir of Katsina, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman.
“Immediately after the ceremony, the Senate President proceeded to Kano for the Wedding Fatiha of the children of Alhaji Hassan Kafayos Jajibe.
“Thereafter, Lawan paid a condolence visit to former Speaker of House of Representatives, Alhaji Ghali Umar Na’abba who lost his mother recently.
“The Senate President and his entourage have since returned to Abuja.”
