Emergeny rule: Tinubu deserves praise for saving Rivers from anarchy – Fubara
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has called on supporters and all citizens to come together and express gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his swift action in addressing the political crisis in the state.
Speaking at a meeting with leaders of the Simplified Movement to mark the second anniversary of his administration, Fubara emphasized that a peace and reconciliation process is already underway.
“I want to assure you that the issues will soon be resolved, and you will come back to your offices… What is important is for us to have a forgiving spirit,” Fubara stated. He implored his supporters to show appreciation to President Tinubu, crediting him for preventing further instability in the state.
Fubara urged everyone to prioritize the collective interest of Rivers State over individual grievances, asserting, “We have to come down from our high horses… The interest of the State is paramount.” He acknowledged the anger felt by some citizens but stressed the need to embrace reconciliation for the betterment of the community.
The governor also spoke about the potential for a peaceful relationship with former Governor Nyesom Wike, saying, “There is no reason why there will not be peace between me and my Oga… We will reconcile.” He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to the people of Rivers State and his desire to serve with respect and integrity as they move forward together.
