Elemona: Tinubu’s ADC to appoint regent until retirement from military service
Barely 24 hours to the inauguration of new Elemona of Ilemona, the newly approved monarch, His Royal Highness Oba Nurudeen Alowonle Yusuf, Fiwadade Ilufemiloye Oyekanmi, the second, the Elemona of Ilemona land, it has been announced that he will be appointing a regent on the throne until his retirement from the military service.
This is according to a statement posted on the X handle of the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Fafoluyi Yinka.
The Informant247 reports that President Bola Tinubu’s Aide-De-Camp, ADC, Lt Col. Nurudeen Yusuf was appointed the new Elemona of Ilemona land in Oyun local government area of Kwara state, following the demise of his father, late Oba Yusuf Omokanye Oyekanmi, the former Elemona in May this year.
However, the people of Ilemona, as expressed by the community’s king makers decided to install Lt Col. Yusuf as their new traditional ruler while expressing their admiration for his act of kindness and humanitarian gestures to the community and environs in the last few years.
Meanwhile, having received due authorization as stated and required by the traditional, custom and ethics of the Nigerian army, the ADC accepted the decision of his people as the in-coming Elemona of Ilemona.
The presidential ADC is to be presented his staff of office by governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Saturday, 13th of July, 2024, after the approval of the governor and ratification of the state’s traditional council of chiefs.
