Ekiti man bags 5 years for raping 4-year-old girl
Amujo Kunle, 20, has been sentenced to five years imprisonment for sexually abusing a four year old girl, by the Ekiti state high court, in Ado-Ekiti.
The suspect reportedly removed the four year old girl’s clothes, lying on top her, on May 29, 2020, at Odo-Oro Ekiti in Ikole Ekiti LGA.
According to the police, the suspect took the girl to his room, removed her pants and lay on her, as he put Tom Tom in her mouth and covered it with her wears.
The victim’s mother while narrating her side of the story in court said, “I went to give breakfast to my brothers who came from the village. When I came back, I did not find my daughter. I called her name but she did answer. I searched everywhere. I wanted to ask my neighbor, Amujo Kunle, if he knew her whereabouts because his door was not locked. When I opened the door, I saw him lying on top of my daughter with his trousers on, but I discovered that my daughter’s pant had been removed while a Tom Tom was in her mouth.’’
Stanley Okonkwo, who’s the counsel to the accused, persuaded the court to temper justice with mercy.
Justice John Adeyeye declared that the defendant was guilty of sexual abuse and exploitation of a child.
Justice Adeyeye said, “The defendant in the circumstance is hereby sentenced to five years imprisonment without option of fine.’’
