The Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has approved the cancellation of Durbar and other Eid-el-Kabir festivities in the state to support the state government fight against the novel cronavirus.
The Secretary of the Kwara State Council of Ulamah, Justice Salihu Olohuntoyin Mohammed (rtd), made this disclosure in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday.
The council described the decision of the state government to cancel Eid-el-Kabir congregational prayer as desirable in the collective interest of the state.
The statement further commended the state government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic and supports for traditional institutions in the state.
