Eid: APC LG aspirant, Maiyaki greets muslims, preaches adherence

An All Progressive Congress chairmanship aspirant in the forthcoming Ilorin East Local Government election, Mallam Saheed Maiyaki has rejoiced with muslim faithfuls in the state on the occasion of Eid-l-fitr celebration.

The politician in a statement signed by his media office enjoined Kwarans to continue to upheld the teachings of the holy month of Ramadan, even after the fasting preriod.

The statement read in parts, “The glorious month of Ramadan is characterized by multitude of beautiful teachings such as religious tolerance; peaceful coexistence; generosity; patience and religiosity, therefore followers of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) must leverage all these great virtues in order to be closer to the creator.

“We should, as a matter of reality employ this gracious opportunity to beseech Almighty Allah in his profound grandeur to restore normalcy to the country in the face of the global health predicament – Covid19 – wreaking health challenges to the nation at large.”

He further admonished people to religiously adhere to the Pray-at-home directive churned out by the National Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) to proactively curtail the transmission of the novel coronavirus in the cause of observing the Eidul fitr congregational prayers in various states across the country.
