Education is the greatest investment’: Nasir Abdulquadri emphasises human Capital at Saliu Mustapha scholarship awards

Mallam Nasir Abdulquadri, CEO of D-Positive Global Image Services Consult Limited and Technical Adviser to Senator Saliu Mustapha, has commended the Senator’s commitment to education as a key driver of societal transformation.

Speaking at the scholarship award ceremony for 200 indigenes of Kwara Central Senatorial District, Abdulquadri emphasised the importance of investing in human capital development.

The event, themed “Securing the Future Now: The Power of Human Capital Development & Investment,” was held at Peace Hall in Ilorin. It celebrated Senator Saliu Mustapha’s initiative to provide full scholarships for newly admitted students in tertiary institutions across Nigeria, covering their tuition fees for the entire duration of their studies.

In his address, Abdulquadri reflected on the significance of education, quoting the Quran: “Are those who know equal to those who know not?” He described knowledge as the foundation for individual and societal progress.

“Education is the greatest investment any nation can make for the rapid transformation and development of its economic, social, and cultural life,” he said, referencing Nigerian statesman Obafemi Awolowo.

Abdulquadri praised Senator Mustapha for his visionary leadership, noting that the scholarship program not only reduces the financial burden on families but also empowers beneficiaries to achieve their dreams.

“This initiative is about more than funding education; it’s about creating a future generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers,” he said. “Senator Mustapha’s investment in education will leave a lasting legacy for Kwara Central and beyond.”

He encouraged the 200 beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity. “This scholarship is a divine intervention in your journey. Work hard, stay focused, and make Senator Mustapha and your families proud,” Abdulquadri advised.

Emphasising the importance of collaboration, Abdulquadri called on stakeholders to unite in creating more opportunities for young people. He quoted an African proverb: “When spider webs unite, they can tie up a lion,” stressing the need for collective action in fostering human capital development.

The ceremony was graced by traditional rulers, religious leaders, and other key stakeholders. Abdulquadri also expressed gratitude to Senator Mustapha for his unwavering commitment to the development of Kwara Central through education and other impactful initiatives.

Concluding his speech, Abdulquadri quoted Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” He urged everyone to prioritise education and work collectively towards building a brighter future for Nigeria.
