Edo Gov., Obaseki congratulates new Senate President, Godswill Akpabio

Godwin Obaseki, the Edo State Governor, has sent a congratulatory message to the new Senate president, Senator Godswill Akpabio on his victory.

The Informant247 had earlier reported that a former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday emerged as the senate president after defeating his closest rival, Abdulaziz Yari from Zamfara.

It was gathered that Sani Tambuwal, the Clerk of the National Assembly, after a quick recess, declared Akpabio the Senate President, having garnered 63 votes, to defeat his closest, Abdulaziz Yari, who gerned 46 votes.

In a statement released Tuesday and made available to newsmen on Tuesday, Governor Obaseki congratulated the 10th Senate President, while expressing optimism that he would not fail, noting that with Akpabio’s wealth of experience, the 10th Senate is in good hands.
