Dozens injured as Palestinians, Israeli forces fight at Jerusalem Temple

Dozens of people have sustained severe injuries following fresh clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces.

The altercation happened on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City, referred to by Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary, on the last Friday of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.

Palestinian news agency reported that about 42 people sustained severe injuries as a result of the violence.

Report has it that the Temple Mount had in the two weeks witnessed continued confrontations.

The police has revealed that, hundreds of people, some of them masked, had instigated rancour and unrest at the holy site.

The police however said security measures were put in place to ameliorate security tension in the affected area.
