Don’t increase tuition fees, Kwara govt warns tertiary institutions
Ahead of schools resumption, the Kwara state government, on Wednesday, warned all state-owned tertiary institutions against increment in tuition fees.
Adamu Mohammed Saidu, Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Press Secretary quoted the Ministry’s Commisioner, Hajiya Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu to have issued the warning at a stakeholders meeting and covid-19 training session in Ilorin, the state capital.
The Commisioner warned that the state government will not accept any institution charging students arbitrarily.
Meanwhile, Mrs Kawu also refuted the rumour that Kwara State University, Malete has increased its acceptance fee, urging
the public, especially the students and parents, to disregard such rumour.
