DONE DEAL: ASVO FC of Benin Republic snatch Nigerian Wonderkid Godwin Oshagbemi
Benin Republic Elite league side, ASVO FC has secured the service of the Kwara Football Academy‘s graduate Godwin Oshagbemi.
Ragarded as one of the brightest youngsters in the Nigerian football league scene, Godwin Oshagbemi’s move to ASVO signals another leap in his towering career.
Sources claimed that ASVO FC has on several occasions sent their scouts to watch and monitor the prodigy who has also been on the radar of many top Nigerian clubs since his emergence on the NPFL scene.
Godwin, who was signed on a two year loan deal was unveiled by the club president, Marcelline Bocove on Tuesday in Benin Republic.
The deal was facilitated by Ibrahim Mojeed, the CEO of Greenboi concept, a top football management agency.
Godwin endeared himself to football followers in Nigeria having spent two seasons with Kwara United with an impressive performance.
He was an integral part of the Harmony Boys team of the last two seasons and his impressive performance saw him emerged earned him an invitation to Nigeria Natjonal U20 team.
He also cemented his place in the history of the Kwara United team for scoring the lone goal that escaped the team from relegation two seasons ago in the away game against Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri.
Godwin scored four important goals for Kwara United in the just concluded season including the symbolic last goal of the season for the team in the 4-0 win over Heartland FC. (three in the league and one in the FA Cup). He had earlier scored two goals for the team in the 2022/2023 season.
The young and vibrant attacking midfielder is expected to work with Nigerian Manager, Coach Fatai Osho and will also have the camaraderie of another Kwara born defender, Dagbo Muritala who has also joined the Benin republic side.
