…..as team lost to Pillars in Kano
Following Kwara United’s 2-1 loss to Kano Pillars in the NPFL matchday 16 clash on Thursday, the Technical Adviser of the Harmony Boys, Coach Kabiru Dogo has disregarded the three match ultimatum that was activated by the management of the team after their home draw against Niger Tornadoes.
In response to the club poor run of form where they had managed three wins, seven draws and four losses from 14 games, the management had handed the Technical crew a three match ultimatum starting from their last match against Plateau United.
Speaking to Journalist at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano on Thursday, Coach Dogo who said Kano Pillars were lucky to have snapped the last minute winner said he is not under any pressure as the Technical Adviser of the team.
“As far as I am concerned, I don’t have any match ultimatum. How can I have an ultimatum in my home. It’s all about the politics of the game”
“I am not under any pressure for anything because nobody can remove me from Ilorin. Even if they say I should leave Kwara United today,I can’t leave Ilorin. Kwara United is our product. It’s our team and we must be around the team whether we are there or we are not there- Any body that is there we must support him and wish him well” he said.
While describing the game as an even contest, he noted that he has always secured a positive result in Kano, adding that he was only unlucky on Thursday.
Kwara United took an early lead in the game when Emmanuel Ogbole scored a header in the 14th minute.The homeside would later get an equaliser in the stroke of the halftime through Aminu Mohammed before Mustapha Yuga snatched a last minute winner.
Dogo who noted that the officiating of the match was also perfectly said that the Nigeria Premier Football league has witnessed a leap in organisation as he commended the coaches, fans and journalists for supporting the league.
Kwara United will now play host to Lobi Stars in their next game at home on January 7, 2024 when the match ultimatum is expected to complete. The team currently occupies 12th position on the log with 19 points from 16 games.
