DigProm trains kids in codings, app development

One of Nigeria’s leading digital companies, DigProm, has trained over 20 kids in coding, game and mobile app development among other technology related skills.

Speaking after presenting certificates to the kids, the company’s CEO, Babatunde Ishola said the programme aligned with goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2020, which seeks quality education for developing countries, aiming at building a generation of young programmers who could transform the Africa technology ecosystem.

Abayomi Racheal bagged the most outstanding Python of the program, Omotosho Hiqmah bagged the most outstanding in the scratch of the program, Most dedicated was given to Olawuyi Ibrahim, which Popoola Araoluwa was given the most creative of the 2020 edition of the program.

The event, held at the National Union of Journalist Secretariat in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, was attended by Commissioners and top government functionaries in the state.

The Commissioner for Communications, Mrs. Afolabi Harriet Oshatimehim in her speech, commended the organizer of the program, saying the program has shown that Kwara State has a bright future.

She furthered that the State Government will continue to support the kind of program.

For her part, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education,Science and Technology, Hajia Saadatu said, “I am proud of Ishola Kayode Babatunde and promise to continue supporting the initiative.”

The Special Adviser on New Media to Kwara governor, Mr. Fafoluyi Olayinka Solace stated that the government will continue to support the initiative.
