Democracy Day: FG declares Wednesday public holiday

In commemoration of this year’s Democracy Day, the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Interior on Tuesday, declared Wednesday, 12th June 2024, as a public holiday.

Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, made this known in a statement by Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry.

He said, “As we mark another Democracy Day in the history of our dear country, let us all reflect on the efforts of our founding fathers and ensure that Nigeria remains a united, secured, peaceful and indivisible entity”.

While congratulating Nigerians on the occasion, Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged them to remain steadfast on the tenets of democratic governance while also reiterating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to positive reforms in reviving the nation’s economy and enhancing security.
