Dele Shittu Foundation launches food palliative to 6,000 people in Kwara
In a remarkable effort to ease the burden of Kwarans, the Dele Shittu Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, has launched a food palliative program to no fewer than 6,000 vulnerable individuals across the state.
The initiative, which kick-started on Sunday, February 23, is expected to run for three days and will end on February 26, 2025.
According to Mr. Toyeeb Ibrahim (MBA), the Manager of the Dele Shittu Foundation, while commending the efforts of the team to ensure a smooth running of the program, opined that the first phase, launched in Offa, Ojoku, Epe, Ijagbo, and Igosun, has seen many households benefited from the program.
Ibrahim, while attributing the initiative’s success to the foundation’s chairman, Dr Lanre Shittu, noted that the program targets 6,000 beneficiaries from 1,500 households across the state.
He said, “The success of this initiative was made possible by the extraordinary generosity of Dr. Lanre Shittu. His financial commitment and deep compassion for the less privileged continue to inspire meaningful change,

The Food Relief Program includes the distribution of staple food items such as rice, beans, and garri.
